Simon Royle is an international author whose work spans crime fiction, science fiction, technothrillers and practical non-fiction.
His writing is shaped by decades of experience across Asia, where the collision of culture, politics, business and technology has informed both his fiction and his work in generative engine optimisation.
What International Means
For Simon, “international author” is not a marketing label. It reflects a life shaped by different countries, cultures and ways of seeing the world.
Living and working across Europe, Africa, the United States, Asia and Australia has provided more than settings for his books. It has influenced how he writes about power, loyalty, identity, ambition, technology and the tensions that emerge when cultures meet.
That experience is particularly visible in the Bangkok Series, where politics, organised crime, family and street life collide in modern Thailand. It also informs his science fiction, technothrillers and practical non-fiction, bringing an international perspective to subjects that are often treated from only one cultural viewpoint.
About Simon Royle
In fiction, I am working on Bangkok Heat, which is now entering the final stretch. I am also experimenting with my poetry and may be tempted to unleash some of it on the world soon.
Beyond that, there are several other novel ideas and projects competing for attention. Some have been with me for years; the challenge is finding the time to finally bring them to the page.
In non-fiction, I am diving deeper into the world of large language models, exploring how the code and systems beneath them are evolving, and what those changes mean for the way businesses, websites and people are found, understood and represented by artificial intelligence.
I am completing the launch of The GEO Success Series, with three books published or scheduled for release, and another three already planned. The next books will focus on authority and brand, examining how organisations can build the signals that help AI systems recognise, trust and recommend them.
I am also developing Managing Across Asia: A Practical Guide to Leading, Communicating and Negotiating Across Cultures, drawing on decades of firsthand experience living and working across the region.
